Captain Todd A. Bassett holds a USCG Master’s license and is certified in first aid and CPR. He is an avid outdoorsman / fisherman and a member of the Lake Ontario Charter Boat Association. Todd started fishing many of New York State's lakes, rivers and streams in the early 80's, and began trolling for lake trout, rainbow trout, brown trout and land locked salmon on the finger lakes during the late 80's. He began fishing for Steelhead, Brown Trout and Salmon in Lake Ontario's rivers and streams in the 1980's and got into sport fishing for Lake Ontario's Trophy Trout and Salmon in 1990. He has fished several areas of the lake from Wilson in the west to Port Ontario in the east. He is most familiar with Lake Ontario's waters in the area of his home port, having trolled this area for the trophy trout and salmon regularly since 1990.
A little about us:
Our home port is on the Southern shore of Lake Ontario, we are located at Hughes Marina @ 5003 Lake Road - We are about 7-8 miles west of Sodus Bay and 2 miles east of Pultneyville NY.
We are available for charters weekend and Friday and Mondays if arranged ahead of time during the normal Lake Ontario open water fishing season . We usually start fishing for Trout and Salmon in April and finish up in October. The exact start and stop dates depend to a large extent upon the weather and the Lakes water levels.
We concentrate our fishing efforts on trolling for Lake Ontario's trophy Trout and Salmon though we are also available for Bass or Perch fishing trips on request.
We stay at Lake Ontario as much as possible during the open water fishing season. It also gives us the ability to keep track of both the lake conditions and the fishing conditions.
